Avocado masks for skin and hair

A ripe avocado can be used in many ways to prepare beauty treatments at home, cheap and cost-efficient. Here are a few beauty treatments you can make based on avocado:

The avocado fruit is rich in vitamins A, B1, B2 and B6 which are essential for our metabolism and immune system. It is also a great source for fatty acids which are known to protect against breast cancer and high cholesterol.

Half of an avocado consumed per day assures a hydrated, soft skin, and not to mention that it has also been proven efficient in diets, as well.

To make a mask you need one peeled avocado and 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Puree the fruit until it gets a creamy consistency and then add the olive oil. Mix well and apply on dry skin. Also place 2 slices of cucumber on your eyes to get a complete facial out of it. Leave to act for 10 minutes and then rinse with warm water.

You can upgrade the above mask and use it on your hair, as well. When I say upgrade I mean that in top of the pureed avocado and olive oil you have to also add 1 tablespoon of honey. Apply the paste on dry hair and leave to act for 30 minutes before washing your hair.

Mix the avocado with banana and you get an excellent mask for dry skin, and which also prevents and treats wrinkles. Do this mask every week: half of an avocado, half of a banana, 1 teaspoon of olive oil and 2 drops of lavender essential oil. You can use a blender, if you want, but you can also mash and mix everything up by hand in just a couple of minutes.

Put a towel around your neck so that you don’t get dirty and apply the mask on your face. Leave to act for 15 minutes and wipe it off using a damp towel.
