Parsley is a miracle plant when it comes to keeping our beauty and health. It is great for improving a weak immune system, to improve digestion, and it can do wonders for our skin and hair. Here’s how to use it for beauty purposes:
If you have tarnished skin, to help it regain its shininess and luminosity, boil a handful of parsley in less than 500ml of mineral water, for 10 minutes. Let the liquid cool down and filter it. Keep it in the fridge in a seal-tight container and wipe your face with it every night. Do not rinse. This treatment is also great for reducing freckles and wrinkles.
To tone your scalp and accelerate hair growth, while making it strong and shiny at the same time, massage the roots of your hair with the treatment described above. Leave to act for at least one hour or leave overnight.
You can also use parsley to calm down puffy eyes. To reduce eye swelling boil a few parley twigs in 1l of mineral water. Leave the mixture to cool down and using a cotton disk, apply it on your eyes for 10 minutes. If you don’t have parsley, you can replace it with green tea.
Here’s another common problem parsley can help with: bad breath. If you had something with garlic or onion or anything smelly, chew a few parsley leaves and your problem will disappear due to its rich content in antioxidants, vitamin C and iron, making it even more effective than minty toothpaste in annihilating the sulfur compounds in garlic, which are responsible for its specific smell.
You can also use it to reduce dark skin spots. Get a small amount of whole parsley, leaves and everything, and chop it until you get something resembling a paste. Apply it on the affected skin areas and leave to act for 10 minutes. Rinse with warm water.
You can also mix it with lemon juice and olive oil, and even chopped cucumber, to get a complete facial treatment out of it.
