Potatoes are not just delicious. If you didn’t know, they can be used to prepare various remedies against issues such as migraines, puffy or baggy eyes, kitchen burns and they can also help to improve your skin’s appearance.
To treat migraines, all you need to do is to slice up a raw potato and apply them on your temples and forehead and secure them using a bandage. Change the potato slices after 15 or 20 minutes if the problem persists.
To calm down puffy eyes you need 2 slices of raw potato. Place them on your eyes and leave the starch in the potato, which has anti-inflammatory properties, to do its job.
If you had an accident while cooking, you can also use the humble potato to calm the burn down and heal faster. Grate half a potato (or one potato if the area affected is larger), mix it with a little bit of honey and apply the mixture on the affected area. Use this treatment at least once a day, until the burn completely heals.
To get rid of baggy eyes, place a potato in the fridge for at least 30 minutes or until you can feel it very cold, peel it and slice it. Put two slices on your eyes and place the remaining potato slices back in the fridge. Change them after 15 minutes, if necessary. Another way to do it would be to put a potato in a food processer, dip a cotton disk in the juice and apply it around the eyes. After the juice is absorbed, rinse with cold water.
To get shiny skin, using a food processor, puree a raw potato and apply it on your face. To prevent it from falling off of your skin you can mix it with honey or clay. Leave to act for 15 minutes and rinse with cold water. You can also add lemon juice in the mixture to get an even more powerful effect.
Potato mask also helps with treating dark skin spots, and also reduces wrinkles, irritations and tones the skin.
To counteract hair fall, mix 2 tablespoons of potato juice with 2 tablespoon of aloe gel and 1 tablespoon of honey. Massage the mixture on your scalp and after one hour wash your hair as usual. Use the mask once a week.
